When the salesman asked how hushpuppies got their strange name, he was told it came from soldiers who tossed deep fried cornmeal to their barking dogs to quiet them down, or "Hush, puppies." At the time "barking dogs" was another way to say aching feet. Since hushpuppies were seen as the way to cure your dogs from barking, the salesman's new line of soft suede shoes got their name.

These shoes are practical for walking and the heel height is great for this purpose. They look smart too, not trendy, just comfortable walking shoes. Knocking around shoes that look good.

These sandals are great except that one of them rubs one toe, which causes some chafing. I am hoping that they will soften up a bit and the problem will go away because otherwise I love them!
