The inspiration for Teva shoes began over twenty years ago in the majestically deep canyons and free-flowing rivers of the Arizona desert. Mark Thatcher, a Grand Canyon River Guide, couldn't help but notice the discomfort tourists experienced during river trips due in large part to their water-logged sneakers and flimsy, unsupportive flip-flops. For Mark, the solution to this challenge led to the introduction of the first fully supportive sport sandal and the beginning of Teva shoes.
Teva (which means nature in Hebrew) shoes are committed to both innovation in footwear and the protection of waterways around the world. The hand symbol found in the Teva shoes logo comes from a northeast Arizona Native American tribe named the Hopi. The logo image represents the Hopi symbol for friendship and water and provides a perfect emblem for the outdoor spirit and enduring nature of Teva shoes.
Today, with demand always on the rise, Teva shoes have expanded to include an excellent variety of men's, women's and kids' outdoor and active wear. From their introduction of the first sport sandal to their pioneering design of trail running shoes and mountain hiking boots, Teva shoes have captured the true essence of the great outdoors. I ordered these in black about 4yrs ago fell in love with the comfort having the extra bands unlike regular flip flops makes them the most comfortable sandals i have ever had...i preceded to order 3 more pairs in different colors ....i wear the black the most and have worn then down to the ground...I now just ordered 2 more in black this year and hope when they discontinue them (which they always do when something is GREAT) that i will still have a least 2 new pair on hand...
