    I do not buy boots but my sister kept telling me to get a pair. She actually picked out these boots (she usually picks out my clothing and footwear anyway, she has a great eye) and I am very happy with the purchase and these boots will be worn next year also! Timberland is a great brand. I am happy with my purchase.

      I have great difficulty with my feet. These chukkas ideally suit what I need. Very comfortable even on the first wear. I work in a business casual environment and can wear these even with a skirt I got the black- VERY nice looking!). Streamlined look, not at all "chunky". Where I live is very messy weather and these are doing the trick without having to wear bulky boots. I don't like the laces, thin and stiff, but they are not poor quality and will doubtless soften up, I just prefer a broader lace-the grommets in the shoe will accommodate that if I want to swap them out. Excellent quality shoe.

              I purchased the wheat color of this same shoe last year and loved them, so decided to purchase the black ones. They were nothing alike, considering they should have been the same shoe just different colors. The black coloring was very ugly, the shoes were not comfortable at all and they squeaked when you walked in them. Not sure what happened, but I sent the first pair back thinking that it was just a faulty pair, but the second pair sent was just the same.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
