    Working as a dog pooper scooper, walking all day in wet, dry, hot, cold conditions, I needed a waterproof work boot, and finding one in a size 13 4E is a challenge. Finding a quality one made of welt construction is almost impossible. When I found these I was thrilled.

    The reviews on this one all said how comfortable they are, and true to width and size. That part is correct.

    The heel height was my only concern. When they arrived I walked around the house in them and they seemed fine. Once I got out in the field to work I felt like I was walking in high heel shoes. Each step forced my foot forward into the boot and my knee would bend like a lady in stiletto heels. I was not happy with the boots at all.

    After a few days of pain I brought them to a shoe repair guy, and he cut the heel sole off, ground it down, then added a 1/4" heel sole, lowering the heel by about 1/2 the original height. Now they are the perfect height, but still lacked a good insole.

    At first I tried a standard store bought insert. Still not enough comfort or support. Then I went to a shoe store specializing in orthodics and they fitted me with a really good insole insert. Finally after another $125.00 invested into the boots, ($60 for the heel change, $65 for the inserts) they feel perfect.

    Bottom line: Good quality boots. If you can tolerate the heel, you'll love them. If not, get them re-soled completely, or just the heel.

                I'm a tow truck driver and these boots are wonderful for the nasty weather i work in. The reason i chose these boots was because of the thick trend. The only bad thing is my feet sweat in them more than usual but i still like them and would buy them again in the future.
