Madden-ing Maddens Mis-happening Happens

These are my Go To Shoes!

I have been buying this same style of Steve Madden Black Leather Slip-on Shoes for 7 years, since 2006. They are my absolute favorites because they go well with everything from a suit to jeans & a v-neck t-shirt.

They usually hold up well for a year or two with occasional wear. This pair however were marred on day 1.

As I walked down the sidewalk I scuffed the tip / toe on the front of the shoe on an uneven area. The leather must be very thin or possibly a leather lining on cheaper leather... IDK, but a one inch flap is peeled & hangs about 1/2 of an inch down on the front of the shoe. I can't even polish & wax it to cover it up. It hangs! I will try a leather glue to hopefully adhere it, but I don't know how wearable they will be for any events.

Somehow the shoes seem to know that I have OCD in regards to symmetry, perhaps they are a new high tech smart shoe. The tear/scuff/flap must have called in it's posse because a matching (but thankfully a bit smaller) tear/scuff/flap appeared on the other shoe. ...so a wee bit frustrating, but STILL I love this shoe.
