Comments about Merrell Men's Outland Mid Waterproof Boot:

I've bought 2 pairs of these now, and use one for working in the dirty wet punishing environment of a garden center/nursery and the other for casual / home use. These shoes were recommended by my doc to lessen the pain of planter faciatis/ arch pain that I'd developed over the years. I'm on my feet at work 10-12 hrs each day, rarely off my them, often on hard concrete surfaces. These shoes CURED my arch problems that 2 docs and dozens of different pad inserts couldn't.Took a couple months, but I'm pain free now after 2 years of dealing with PF. They also lasted a full year + of 7 day a week use, outlasting the Columbia's I'd purchased the previous 6-8 years 2 to 1. Only downside was that the waterproof feature works a little too well, they're so well built to keep moisture out, they also keep foot sweat in, I'd never experienced that in a shoe before. Not a problem if you're only in them a couple hours , but noticeably damp socks after 6-8 hours. I ended up finally "drilling " discreet holes to vent them. Problem solved! Weird solution, but it worked. I'm getting ready to buy another pair soon.
