      I love almost everything about the Modiste sandal...but there is one huge negative which is enough to bring my rating down to 2 stars. The heel is of very soft spongy material that is not durable and scuffs incredibly easily. The first time I wore the sandals I noticed little nicks in the heels after wearing them all day...then the second time I wore them I ended up with a penny-size gauge in the back of the right heel that scraped off the fake cork surface to reveal a bright white spongy material underneath - had to paint/fill-in the gauge as best I could. I am not hard on shoes and am disappointed with this poor heel quality.

      I own 2 other styles of Sketchers sandals that are acceptable quality, so don't know how they missed the boat on these! While I recommend, it is with the understanding that don't expect these sandals to be in your closet for more than a season.
