This is a very cute sandal, but it does take a breaking in period. It's not meant to be worn for a full day of sightseeing, for example. It's comfortable to walk in, but after a while it tends to chafe the upper foot area. I think the more you wear them, the better they will feel.

I had to exchange the shoes from a 9Wide (my normal size) for an 8 Wide and they fit perfectly. I had purchased a pair of these in Florida four years ago and bought a straight 9 Medium and they were fine so I was delighted to find them in a wide and in the silver color. I love them!
