I used this on an old western hat that had gotten badly water-spotted. The hat looks 100% better, but the process generated a lot of "eraser crumbs". I ended up going out on the porch to use it.
Also, the process did lighten the color of the hat significantly (which the package says might happen). The whole hat needed cleaning, so that wasn't a problem, but it might have been tricky to blend the color if I had just been cleaning up one spot.
