There are few options in the marketplace for us oddball 6-E shoe width specimens. This shoe is nearly perfect in this regard - AFTER I stretch it out a little more with a few miles of walking.

These are actually my wife's shoes. She has a short wide foot and most women's shoes do not fit her. She has always been able to get shoes that fit here. She likes the 811 leather sneaker and has bought four of five pairs over the years. They hold up well and are comfortable.

This is the only really comfortable shoe I've been able to find for years. I really wish it came in more colors. As you must know, more and more women are wearing men's sizes these days, so if you could consider your popular, long-lasting styles like this to be unisex (it does come in men's and women's, both N.B. 811), perhaps you could contract to have them made in additional colors, i.e. navy, bone, etc.

These shoes felt great right out of the box. I've worn them for three full days with no ill effects (typical for NB). I wear them for casual use but it's back to the 608's(609) for power walking. Mine have laces vs. velcro straps.

I suffer with Degenerative disc disease every day and if I stand anytime at all I have terrible back pain in my L-4, L-5 region but when I found these shoes I could stand a little longer without that pain so it totally improved the quality of my life. I was somewhat worried when I opened the box and found a pair of quite ugly shoes. It took me a week or so to even try them out as I really wanted to just return them. After about a week of wearing them, the real test came when we went to Sea World. I realized after a time that my ankle was not aching as it would have been wearing any other shoe I own. Wow. Even the look of them has grown on me.....

My Husband has Lyphodema and has a leg and foot that swells terribly.He also recently had a Triple Bypass. These shoes have been AWESOME. He can do his rehab and be comfortable and not worry about his feet or leg hurting, or swelling while they are on.

I am defenitely a WOMAN with a size 12 1/2 AAAA foot. The ONLY sneakers I have been able to find that fit and are comfortable are New Balance "men's" in 11 1/2 AA, with a Dr. Scholl's gel pad insert. The ladies 12 AAAA is too short and does not have the overall fit.

These shoes are really soft on the inside, no places that rub after a day's work. My plantar fasciitis was better the very first day I wore them.

Good shoe, comfortable. Sole is pretty solid with little flex, effects driving, tends to slip off the gas pedal. Not a problem after some use.

I work for the Sheriff's office and I walk anywhere from 2 to 8 miles a day. The 811 is so comfortable to wear that at the end of the day my feet feel as fresh as they did in the morning.
They give great support in the arches, the ball of the foot and the heel. I have a wide foot and with the 6e width I have lots of room.
I have 2 pairs of them now and would not give them up for anything.

This is a nice shoe. If you're on your feet all day like I am, this shoe works. Sturdy and comfortable they're also good for walking. The only thing I don't really like are the velcro straps, but I need them because I have weak ankles and have to wear ankle braces every day. If these shoes were made with ankle support they would be great. The people at New Balance need to think about that. It would help a lot of people.

NB is the shoe, product line, that saved my ability to function as an adult. Until they came out with their products I had years of foot problems and constant pain. When I found them, I purchased and wore their products exclusively. I have even bought multiple pairs of the same style shoe, when I found a style that was perfect. If they ever decide to go out of business, I will have to buy 20 pairs so I have enough pairs to last me for the rest of my life.

I am glad I bought these shoes. I like the comfort and convenience of the velcro strap. No re-lacing needed. Wide size accommodates my feet nicely.

I wish that a shade of brown available. Black does not match with some clothes I wear, and the other color available is too light - will show dirt, stains.

I don't know what I will do if New Balance ever discontinues this shoe. It's recommended by my PT expert and I can function at my best wearing it. Spinal injury during surgery by anestheiologist left me partially paralyzed & in constant pain. BUT WITH THIS SHOE AND Rx FOR PAIN, I CAN WALK. I wear brace for dropped foot and use a walker. Wish it came in white, too.
